A TOTAL of 26 small businesses across Oxfordshire have so far signed up to get free ‘energy audits’ to help them cut costs and carbon.
Oxford Brookes energy expert Moira Dorey has already completed 20 of those audits and is working on the other six.
Now she has appealed for more companies to sign up to get a free usage survey to help themselves and the environment.
The free audit scheme, which is open to small and medium-sized enterprises across Oxfordshire, is being co-ordinated by Oxford’s Low Carbon Hub as part of its EU-funded OxFutures partnership.
The audits suggest a range of practical actions to help reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions and cut energy bills.
The project is also offering grants to cover 25 per cent of the costs of installing recommended measures such as LED lighting, insulation and efficient boilers.
