A RISE in burglaries in the Headington and Marston area has prompted police to hand out leaflets to residents advising them on security.
Thames Valley Police is warning residents there has been an increase in break-ins during recent weeks.
Officers are also increasing the number of patrols.
Residents are being advised to take suitable precautions to ensure their homes are secure. This includes locking windows and doors when leaving the premises and not leaving valuables on show.
