HOSPICES and a homeless charity are among a host of Oxfordshire causes to benefit from Co-op cash.
The Midcounties Co-operative has gifted six charities in the county with a share of £8,540, from fundraising carried out by branch staff across the South East.
Funds include: £2,743 for Katharine House Hospice in Banbury, £2,162 for Sobell House Hospice in Headington, £415 for The Gatehouse homeless charity in Oxford, and £2,307 for The October Club in Wantage, which supports people with Alzheimer’s and dementia.
Pete Lockey, a leadership team ambassador in Oxfordshire at The Midcounties Co-operative, said: “Our colleagues across Oxfordshire have taken on some great fundraising initiatives for our charity partners in the region. We’re thrilled to have raised so much just half a year into the partnership [with charities].”
Oxfordshire Youth Art Partnership and 6th Chipping Norton Scout Group received £170 and £750 respectively to boost support for youngsters.
