LOCALS are being invited to adopt a piece of the city's history to help fund the £2.8m redevelopment of the Museum of Oxford.
There are 60 objects available to adopt, including a bone ice skate from the Saxon period, Lewis Carroll's pocket watch, a pavement made of knuckle bones and a 400-year-old tennis ball.
The museum has a target of £5,000 for the objects available but has only made £1,100 so far and is hoping people will sign up to adopt, with costs starting at £25.
