A CELEBRATION of the life of murdered MP Jo Cox will be held in Abingdon to mark the anniversary of her death next month.
Mrs Cox, who was killed in her constituency of Batley and Spen, in West Yorkshire on June 16, last year, worked for Cowley-based charity Oxfam and lived in the county for many years.
Emma Beacham, part of refugee support group Host Abingdon, has organised a riverside party at St Ethelwolds House to celebrate ‘diverse British culture’ in memory of Mrs Cox on Sunday, June 18 from noon to 3pm.
Yesterday party leaders paused election campaigning for an hour in her memory.
