THE population of Oxford is served by one of the lowest number of stations in the country, it is claimed.
Analysis showed the city came seventh in a ranking, with just one station in the city centre to serve more than 159,500 people.
The figure does not include Oxford Parkway Station, which is outside the city limits.
Leicester topped the list, with just one station to serve 342,627 people. Others with one station included Hull, Oldham, Northampton, Swindon and Peterborough.
The City of London was found to top a list of the highest concentration of stations per population, with one for just 1,460 residents.
