LIMITED copies of a beautiful handcrafted magazine have been snapped up by Oxford residents.
Shoshana Kessler and Beth Sparks launched their independent printing house Hurst Street Press at Osney Lane's OVADA gallery six months ago.
The pair, who met while studying for a masters degree in English at Oxford University, printed their first publication Iris last month.
But just 330 copies of the first edition of the publication, which is hand-stitched, are available in the city.
Ms Kessler, who named the printing press after the street she lives in, said Iris brings together original poetry, prose and art, with contributions from Oxford artists and writers.
The 24-year-old added: "In terms of the actual content, it's amazing - new poets and artists who are really phenomenal and deserve to be read and he book is just beautiful. It's just a really nice piece to have.
"It's trying to bring back that physical encounter with the book. Everything becomes part of that experience."
Ms Kessler and Ms Sparks will host a public exhibition of their printing press and latest publication Iris at OVADA on April 26.
