A Hollyoaks star has left the Channel 4 soap after eight years in a shock to fans.

Jessamy Stoddart, who played Liberty Savage, was revealed to be leaving the show at the end of the Wednesday, May 27, episode.

Liberty had recently been struggling to move on with her life after being involved in an affair with serial killer Jez Blake.

The affair ended once she'd learnt what he'd done, as Liberty began to start dating again, but found it hard.

After a chat with Thersea and Myra, Liberty realised she wanted to move to a place that made her happy, New Zealand.
