Star of the Harry Potter films, Ralph Fiennes, has seemingly confirmed that a Peaky Blinder actor will take on the role of Lord Voldemort.
Fiennes played the villain throughout the Warner Bros movies, starring alongside Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson.
In 2023, HBO confirmed that a new series based on the Harry Potter books would be made and would be “full of the fantastic detail, much-loved characters and dramatic locations.”
The show is expected to debut in 2027 and will see each series based on each book, spanning 10 years.
Much of the new Harry Potter cast has already been confirmed, with the likes of John Lithgow, Nick Frost, Paul Whitehouse and Paapa Essiedu to appear.
However, the role of Lord Voldemort has yet to be confirmed, but it looks like former Harry Potter star, Fiennes, may have let slip on who will be taking on the role.

Fiennes may have revealed that Oscar-winning and Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy may be taking on the role of Voldemort.
Speaking on a red-carpet interview, one reporter asked Fiennes: “Who do you think should fill your shoes for Voldemort in the upcoming HBO (series)?”

Fiennes responded: “Well, I’m told they’re already filled, aren’t they?”
Adding: “I’ve already said I think Cillian Murphy is very good, very good, very good choice.
“I think they’ve cast it, haven’t they?”

Realising he may have let too much information slip, Fiennes quickly added: “Oh, I don’t know I thought they had.”
Although not confirmed by HBO, fans of Harry Potter are more than happy for Murphy to play Voldemort.
Taking to X, one fan said: “If that is really true, I would be very pleased.”
