Spotify customers have reported issues using the popular music streaming service on Friday.

Reports first began to rise on Down Detector, a service for reporting website outages, around 11.17am on March 11.

Following a big drop in the number of issues, outage reports for Spotify spiked again at 2pm, affecting around 450 users.

The most affected areas appeared to be London, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff, Nottingham, Belfast and parts of Norwich.

It would make it the second time Spotify users experienced issues this week.

The huge outage left thousands of Spotify listeners unable to log into their account.

Is Spotify down?

Many users have reported difficulties using the search bar function on Spotify.

One customer said: "This is the second time spotify is having issues this week. I'm tired."

Spotify Cares appears to have confirmed some issues for users on Friday morning, though suggested "everything should be working now".

Responding to one customer, customer service account Spotify Cares said: "Hey, sorry for the delay. We've had some technical hiccups recently, but everything should be working now. Just to check, are you still having issues using the app?"

The most reported problem with Spotify appeared to be general issues with the app, making up 43% of reports on Down Detector.

31% of issues on Down Detector related to log in issues while 26% suggested issues with the server connection.

One user said: "I actually can’t log back onto Spotify so r Kelly is gonna be in my recently played artists forever."

When will the Spotify issues be fixed?

The number of reports about Spotify on Down Detector was continuing to rise until about 11.23am as 800 customers reported issues.

The number of reports on Down Detector dropped to 143 people, as of 11.37am. 

The latest outage spike took place at 2pm, though Down Detector reports started to drop by 2.15pm.

It is likely that any issues with the app will improve very shortly.
