Scottish music festival TRNSMT is to “hand over” the announcement of its latest line-up to fans online.

The event returns to Glasgow Green from July 12-14 after two successful years in the city centre.

On Monday at 5pm the Facebook page will post clues in a live quiz.

Those who work out the clues can be first to announce the acts using their own social media channels.

After the full line-up has been guessed correctly, posts with the hashtag #TRNSMT2019 will be entered into a draw to win a pair of VIP passes for the festival.

Last year the festival was held over two weekends with Stereophonics, Liam Gallagher and Arctic Monkeys headlining one weekend and Queen + Adam Lambert and The Killers the other.

In 2017 the inaugural TRNSMT was headlined by Radiohead, Kasabian and Biffy Clyro.

Geoff Ellis, TRNSMT festival director, said: “TRNSMT has had an amazing audience who have played a huge part in making the festival one of the most popular events on the music calendar in just two years.

“That’s why we’ve decided to place the line-up announcement into their hands for the first time. We can’t wait for them to reveal the first set of artists.”

Tickets for the festival go on sale from Friday, February 22.
