Oxford United supporters got a surprise when club chairman Kelvin Thomas turned out for their fans’ team – and bagged two goals.
The United chief played the full 90 minutes up front for Raging Fever FC against a Wycombe Wanderers supporters’ team and scored a brace to help the yellows record a 3-1 win.
The 38-year-old, who was previously on the books of Dulwich Hamlet FC, said: “It was great fun.
“I felt a bit sore afterwards but there was a great camaraderie between the two sets of supporters which was nice to see. It was good to score a couple of goals, too.”
Raging Fever, named after two former Oxford United fanzines, play up and down the country most Saturdays in the Internet Football Association and presently lie 19th out of 79 teams.
