CAMPAIGNERS are threatening a major protest campaign targeting Prime Minister David Cameron in the run up to the General Election.

New Fathers 4 Justice says it will try to disrupt Mr Cameron’s election campaign in his Witney constituency.

The threat comes after the Prime Minister claimed that protesters have damaged his constituency home in Dean by “clambering all over my roof”.

His property has been targeted by New Fathers 4 Justice, Fathers for Justice aa well as Greenpeace, which set up a mock drilling site outside the house in protest at fracking.

And in an interview with the Evening Standard, the Witney MP said the demos had taken a toll: “The tiles are falling off, the window frames are rotten but I am happy there, we all are. I am a country boy at heart.”

Fathers for Justice and New Fathers 4 Justice have both staged protests outside Mr Cameron’s home and have also climbed onto the roof of his constituency office in High Street, Witney on several occasions. But New Fathers 4 Justice insisted they have never tried to get onto the roof of his house.

In December, father-of-two Bobby Smith was handed a harassment order by police after spending a week camped outside Mr Cameron’s home.

He said Mr Cameron’s words were a “smear” on the campaign for equal custody for fathers.

Mr Smith, 53, from Waltham Cross in Hertfordshire, who has had no access to his children for the past four years said: “He’s making us look like animals for saying we’ve climbed all over his roof. Police live in the house opposite and they come out with machine guns if you go anywhere near it. It’s impossible. You couldn’t get on his roof.”

Terry Vooght, 49, from Harrow, who has no custody of his children after splitting from his wife in 2012, said: “Yes we protested outside his house and we were there all over Christmas, but we didn’t climb on his roof.”

New Fathers 4 Justice is behind the planned campaign in Witney in the fortnight before the election.

They intend to camp out on The Leys in Witney and attend Mr Cameron’s photocalls and election hustings, claiming he has reneged on promises.

In the interview Mr Cameron said he was happiest in his Witney constituency. He told them: “We bought [our house] in 2001, it is falling apart because of Fathers for Justice clambering over my roof. The tiles are falling off, the window frames are rotten but I am happy there, we all are.”
