SCHOOL pupils were the unlikely beneficiaries of Charlbury's fifth beer festival in 2002.
Drinkers who flocked to the village memorial hall to taste 16 real ales from all over the country – including Dent's Kamikaze and Goddard's Fuggle de Dum – slaked their thirst with 2,000 pints as they enjoyed morris dancing, music and a barbecue.

During the event, the Rose and Crown pub, in Market Street, was presented with the North Oxfordshire pub of the year certificate by the Campaign for Real Ale.
The proceeds of almost £5,000 will be donated to Charlbury Primary School.
The four previous festivals raised more than £12,000 for the school.
