PRIME Minister and Witney MP David Cameron has finally joined the modern world by creating a Twitter account.

The PM’s second ever tweet was a picture of himself meeting staff at Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital. That was only an hour after his first Twitter newsflash on Saturday, promising his followers there would not be “too many tweets...”

Within hours the PM received abusive tweets. @_griff tweeted: “Hi again Mr @david_cameron. FYI I’m trolling. It’s like what you do to the unemployed, disabled, children, etc but without actual suffering.”

Former Labour Party deputy leader John Prescott tweeted a few minutes later: “So of the 12 people @david_cameron is following, 100 per cent are Tory politicians #diverse”

By last night Mr Cameron had more than 79,000 followers. Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, who has been on the social network for several years, has just over 92,000 followers.
