BALLOONS and colourful signs filled the inside of a community hall at the annual Muslim celebration of Eid.
Families enjoyed Bollywood dancing, a magician, a bouncy castle and lunch during the party at Rose Hill Children’s Centre in The Oval yesterday.
Littlemore mum-of-three Fatma Abdulla, 36, who is chairman of the Oxford Swahili Community, said: “If you have something like this it gives everyone in the community a chance to enjoy the celebration. “It reminds me of back home in Tanzania.”
The party marked the end of Ramadan, the traditional Islamic month of fasting and forms part of GreenSquare’s Lottery-funded Cultural Food Programme for residents, which encourages culturally diverse groups to cook and eat together.
