I WAS pleased when I received a letter from British Gas stating, as a dual fuel customer, I was entitled to a £15 reward.

In the letter it said: “Take this letter along with a form of ID to your nearest pay point outlet to claim your reward.

“You can spend your reward how you like, from topping up your electric or gas, putting towards your weekly shop or spending it on a treat for yourself.”

So I was really put out when I took it to two local stores to find their machines were not updated to receive these.

And finally when the local Co-op said they took them, to be told, because of their company policy, I could only use it to top up my electric or gas and not use as a cash reward.

Maybe British Gas should be aware of this and state not available at certain outlets, or only at the discretion of store managers.

I wonder how many more customers had the same problems.
