AS fall-back plans go, budding rock star Harry Lingard-Bright has a pretty good one.
The Magdalen College School pupil hopes to hit the big time with heavy metal band Lest We Forget.
Yet should his dreams not materalise, he has a handy nine A*s and A GCSEs to rely on.
The four-piece – featuring two former choirboys – reached the final of the Live and Unsigned talent contest at the O2 Arena this year.
And they are thinking about taking a gap year after A-Levels to pursue their dream.
Harry, 16, said: “If all goes to plan, I want to tour the world.
“Everyone has dreams of making it, but it is very difficult.”
The Eynsham teenager said he felt “really safe” with his grades, and would consider an alternate career in law or medicine.
Harry, who will take biology, chemistry, maths and English A-Levels at the East Oxford school, said: “I feel pretty good, it is better than I thought I would get.”
Dad John Bright said his son’s Bullet For My Valentine-inspired group was not exactly his favoured Bob Dylan.
Mr Bright, 53, said: “He seemed to be able to handle the demands of his new music interest and work. It is a nice thing to have. It is a way of relaxing from academic work.”
