NOW they have their A-Level results, thousands of young people are preparing to head off to university.
For those of them living with the chronic, fluctuating condition Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, commonly known as ME, coping with the demands of student life will be a huge challenge – sadly some are just too unwell to even consider it.
For new and returning students who are less severely affected by ME, Action for ME’s Student Hub offers information and encouragement.
Visit www.actionforme.org.uk /students to join our peer support forum or find advice on topics including symptoms and studying, getting the right support, financial matters and living away from home.
SIR PETER SPENCER, chief executive Action for ME, Canningford House, 38 Victoria Street, Bristol, BS1 6BY
