SOFT, what light through yonder window breaks?
It is in Didcot Civic Hall to be precise, where six aspiring young actors put together a performance of Romeo and Juliet in just two days.
The Enchanted Players theatre group brought together young thespians who learnt the script under the tutelage of Creation Theatre’s Richard Kidd.
On Monday the children chose the play, and on Wednesday afternoon they gave a performance to friends and family.
Enchanted Players director Victoria Ruskin said: “It went really well. We had a few parents actually crying.
“The performance was very strong and deservedly well received.”
Laura Couling, 12, from Didcot, chose the part of the narrator.
She said: “It went really well, especially considering we only really had two days to learn the play.
“We chose Romeo and Juliet because we already knew the story, so we thought it would be a bit easier.
“Richard was really good, he gave us good advice on how to stand, and how to use your voice. You just need to really go for it, you think you are overdoing it but you’re not.”
