A SET of properties which used to belong to Oxford City Council in Headington Hill park has gone on sale by a private estate agent for more than £1.1m.

The Dairy Lodge was sold along with some outhouse toilets in November 2011 for £343,000.

Several other buildings which form part of the estate were sold in 2009 for £480,000.

The complete package — which is being sold through Kemp and Kemp in North Oxford and has undergone some extension work — is being offered up as “an exciting freehold development opportunity”.

The advert reads: “Site comprises converted lodge with four bedrooms, two bathrooms and three reception rooms, adjoining barn with consent to convert into a two-bedroom house and one-bedroom house, detached stone barn with consent to convert into two one-bedroom properties and a detached stone lodge with consent to convert into a one-bedroom house.

“The total floor area once converted is just under 5,000sq ft.”

An Oxford City Council spokesman said: “We sold just the Dairy Lodge and WCs in Headington Hill park in November 2011 for £343,000.

“We sold the house and the outbuilding in 2009 for £480,000.

“The purchaser has subsequently upgraded the house and added an extension since that date.”
