I AM writing to express my great concerns regarding the proposal to increase the charges for attending the Bicester Health and Wellbeing Centre.

My mother attends two days a week and the centre is her life.

It is the only time she socialises, has a hot meal and gets out of her home. If the charges do go up to £25 each day, then she would struggle to find this money.

I recently read an article in the paper about a gentleman being given £2,000 to pay for his petrol and drink to attend social functions, a role which should be an honour to do.

This makes me angry, especially with the steep rise in costs for my mother.

I would really urge the council to think again and get its priorities right.
