A WORLD land speed record was smashed in Utah, USA, in a Mini .
The team from New Zealand broke the speed record for a production car under 1000cc in a 1964 Mini Cooper S, making it the world’s fastest Mini.
The car, manufactured in Longbridge in the West Midlands, hit 243kmh on Saturday, smashing the previous mark of 205kmh.
