PEOPLE got a chance to ‘pimp their bikes’ with graffiti, flags and handlebar streamers.
About 250 took part in the event at Pingle Field, off Pingle Drive, Bicester, which was organised to encourage more people to cycle.
More than 30 people also took part in a five-mile ride around the town’s cycle network.
Others tried out a string of activities including races to put on cycle safety equipment in the fastest time, face-painting, bike-decorating workshops, and bike doctors to help with repairs.
Helping to give bikes a makeover was Emily Cooling, of Kidsarts – pictured with Graffiti Works’ Graham Meads – making handlebar streamers and flags.
She said: “We used recycled materials like fabric, foil and wool and they made handlebar streamers and attached them to their bikes.”
Organiser Louise Caves, strategic partnership manager for A2Dominion, said: “The idea was to encourage people to travel around Bicester on bikes and make them aware of how easy it is. It was a great day.”
