THE dust has settled after the London Olympics and politicians aplenty are filling their boots at how well Team GB did.

Our Prime Minister was positively glowing (you’d have thought he’d personally won gold) and tells how he will fund future athletes for the Rio 2016 Games.

Then it becomes a little clearer that these two-faced politicians are actually selling off our kids’ playing fields to the highest bidder.

They are so entrenched in the free market and money-making at the expense, on this occasion, of our kids, they can’t even get the maths right.

So how will closing our kids’ swimming pools and selling off their playing fields yield more future gold?

It’s estimated that Tories Thatcher and Major sold off 10,000 state school fields, while New Labour followed this policy. This is a particularly nasty attack on the ordinary family in this country.

I wonder if these posh Tory politicians, who in the main went to private schools, would start selling off the green fields of Eton?

Well, they are heavily subsidised by the taxpayer, or that same ordinary family again. If only we could get a nice job working for a bank or in the City, we could all send our kids to Eton and do away with state schools completely.

You couldn’t write it.
