People convicted of offences at magistrates' courts around the county recently:

Patrick Desmond, 53, of Luther Street, Oxford, admitted shoplifting a £5.19 bottle of wine from Tesco Express on July 7. Given a six-month conditional discharge.

Gary Jacobs, 43, of Cowley Road, Oxford, admitted shoplifting food valued at £8.37 from Tesco in Cowley Road on April 7. Given a six-month conditional discharge and told to pay £20 costs.

David Baron, 22, of Pottery Piece, Oxford, admitted criminally damaging wing mirrors valued at £80 in Oxford on June 5, 2011. Told to pay £40 compensation and £85 costs.

Haroon Sadiq, 26, of Courtland Road, Oxford, admitted harassment through phonecalls, texts and voicemail messages between August 20 and September 21, 2011. Given a two-year restraining order and told to pay £600 costs.

Ezio Di Domenico, 24, of Walton Street, Oxford, admitted possessing crack cocaine (Class A) in Oxford on May 29. Fined £200, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.

Robert Richens, 21, of Blay Close, Oxford, admitted stealing a pedal cycle in Queen’s Lane, Oxford, on May 22. One other offence taken into consideration. Jailed for 30 days.

Stephen Bradford, 29, of Wilcher Close, East Hagbourne, admitted possessing cannabis (Class B) and drink-driving in Hill Farm Road, Appleford, on May 25. Had 53 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Fined £300, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for a year.

Lisa Griffiths, 24, of The Lees, Faringdon, admitted driving while disqualified in Park Road, Faringdon, on April 25. Fined £400, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for six months.

Thomas McArthur, 19, of Bennett Crescent, Oxford, admitted failing to comply with a police officer’s direction to leave a locality and not return within 11 hours in Frewin Court, Oxford, on May 27. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £85 costs.

Kirsty McFarlane, 22, of Iffley Road, Oxford, admitted assaulting a police constable at The Plain, Oxford, on July 22. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £100 compensation.

Douglas McLaughlan, 51, of Bath Street, Abingdon, admitted shoplifting a £10 box of beer from Co-op in Bury Street, Abingon, on June 27. Fined £50, a £15 victims’ surcharge, £85 costs and £10 compensation.

Marina Harries, 44, of Roman Way, Bicester, admitted assault by beating in Bicester on April 12 and commission of a further offence while subject to a conditional discharge. Fined £80, a £15 victims’ surcharge, £100 costs and £100 compensation.

Martin Fletcher, 40, of Walton Street, Oxford, admitted assaulting a police constable in Oxford on April 3, failing to surrender to court bail on July 13 and commission of a further offence while subject to a conditional discharge. Told to participate in a ‘back to employment’ course for five days and told to pay £85 costs.

Chris Bray, 37, of Crescent Road, Oxford, admitted assault by beating in Oxford March 15. Given a three-month curfew and told to pay £150 compensation and £150 costs.

John Paley, 35, of Fleet Way, Didcot, admitted using threatening words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress in Kibble Close, Didcot, on May 20. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £20 costs.

Stephen Sykes, 30, of Burwell Drive, Witney, admitted shoplifting two crates of Stella Artois beer valued at £17 from Tesco in Witney on April 19. Given a six-month conditional discharge and told to pay £17 compensation.

Tony Attwood, 31, of Park Rise, Ambrosden, admitted shoplifting a bottle of Hugo Boss aftershave from Superdrug in Sheep Street, Bicester, on June 17; shoplifting a cutter and drill valued at £153.56 from B&Q in Oxford on June 14; shoplifting a Makita drill valued at £199 from Wickes in Bicester on June 14 and failing to surrender to court bail on July 2 and July 13. Jailed for 16 weeks.

Galina Gerasimova, 60, of Levery Close, Abingdon, admitted fraud by switching price tags to obtain a set of scales and a handbag at lower prices at Templars Square, Oxford, on March 21. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £85 costs.

Anthony Joyce, 25, of Redbridge Hollow, Oxford, admitted failing to attend a drug assessment after testing positive for cocaine (Class A) in Oxford on April 23 and failing to surrender to court bail on July 16. Fined £50, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £20 costs.

Edward Booker, 25, of Samphire Road, Oxford, admitted dishonestly undertaking or assisting in the retention, removal, disposal or realisation of stolen goods, namely a silver BMW, in Kingfisher Green, Oxford, on February 15. Given a 12-week jail term, suspended for 18 months. Told to attend the Thinking Skills programme for five days.

Pawel Bugajski, 34, of Phipps Road, Oxford, admitted failing to provide a breath test in Oxford on May 5. Fined £240, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Given 10 penalty points.

Andrew McMahon, 21, of Fern Hill Road, Oxford, admitted assault by beating in Oxford on May 7. Fined £265, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.

Luke Berry, 24, of Mill Road, Abingdon, convicted of being drunk and disorderly in Stratton Way, Abingdon, on January 8. Fined £100, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.

Sasha Parsons, 32, of Francis Little Drive, Abingdon, admitted drink-driving in Spring Road, Abingdon, on July 8. Had 72 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Fined £400, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for 15 months.Thomas Callnon, 65, of The Square, Aynho, admitted drink-driving in Aynho Road, Adderbury, on July 6. Had 66 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Fined £240, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for a year.

Connor Ross, 19, of Buckingham Crescent, Bicester, admitted possessing cannabis (Class B) in Bicester on March 31. Fined £60, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.

Alice Tonner, 23, of Courtington Lane, Bloxham, admitted drink driving in Tadmarton Road, Bloxham, on March 29. Had 229 milligrams of alcohol in 100ml of blood, above the legal limit of 80 milligrams. Fined £200, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for two years.
