I GREATLY enjoyed your articles celebrating the centenary of William Morris and car production in Cowley, Oxford.

However, I must correct one picture caption found on the top of the page in the August 2 edition.

The cars shown outside his cycle workshop in Longwall Street were not made by Morris, but were those that he had acquired and hired out complete with driver.

This was prior to his starting to produce his own cars.

More details can be found about the life of William Morris at the Morris Motors Museum, which forms part of the Oxford Bus Museum in Long Hanborough, and can be enjoyed on Wednesdays and weekends.
