l IS humanity (especially in the Western world) becoming lazier?

In all we do we constantly look for shortcuts in life which become used complacently and usually forgetting the roots that have kept humanity going for centuries.

While I do advocate change for the better, many of today’s changes and shortcuts are not thorough enough in what they stand for.

Our English language, once admired globally, has become seriously fragmented and misused as bits of foreign languages from the varied immigrants and visitors gradually become common speak in everyday conversations.

Some academics blame the youngsters, but they are not the main culprits, as advertising catch-phrases and nonsense-talk seems attractive to schoolchildren who in their fight for survival (in the playground) try to outdo classmates and pupils.

Competition is fierce, so to draw attention to themselves they try to stand out with new trends and ideas. Our present culture of greed and ‘must haves’ is a repercussion of the fierceness that competition between species has developed but always been prevalent long before modern ways of life.

Life will still go on, but is humanity unaware of the changes within itself that eventually will revert to basics of centuries ago?

There are too many people all wanting more.

It seems many advocate live for today and sod tomorrow.
