WITNEY: Eight football teams played throughout the day to raise cash for a children’s charity last month.
The tournament was organised by Summertown-based accountancy firm The MGroup and Witney Town to raise money for the club and SeeSaw, which offers grief support for children in Oxfordshire.
About 200 people turned out to watch the games at Witney Community Stadium and an estimated £1,000 was raised for charity.
The event culminated in a tense game between The MGroup and Witney Town that Witney Town eventually won on penalties.
The MGroup partner Darren Green said: “It was a great day and I think everyone enjoyed themselves.
“We organise the event to get to know companies in the local community and also because we like to support SeeSaw.”
