Sir – Christopher Gray says The Merchant of Venice is 'without doubt' anti-semitic, and its enjoyment a politically incorrect guilty pleasure. On the contrary, it can be seen as a brilliant satire on the hypocrisy of religious and cultural intolerance and what they do to people. Truly a play for our times, wonderfully performed by Creation Theatre.
