Sir – The most human solution to the Barton expansion of the city is to move this part of the ring road down into a tunnel, and then have proper roads and paths above the ring road to link the new communities to the city.
I appreciate that this is an extra cost, but this is the sort of investment that world-class cities like Oxford should be prepared to make.
I travel in Germany and Austria a great deal, and I am sure that this woud be the solution there.
