A date for a judgement in the legal battle for ownership of a £1m North Oxford property has yet to be fixed.

Oxford County Court heard in February that 17 Warnborough Road was owned by now-deceased Nigerian chief Obasola Atobatele.

Fellow Nigerian Abbey Folami says he is the current rightful owner of the six-bedroom property, having bought it from a relative of the chief.

He is seeking to evict tenants Philip Brown and Keiron Halstead, who have other legal proceedings pending under which they will claim there is no rightful owner, in the hope the property will pass to them.

The Oxford Mail understands the submission of paperwork could mean it will be the New Year before Recorder Alastair Wilson delivers his verdict.
