SO, a crane topples over into a ditch damaging the verge along the Woodeaton Road, Woodeaton (Oxford Mail, July 18).

No sooner had this happened when Oxfordshire County Council comes to the rescue to repair the damaged road.

Who pays for this? The crane owner, or the council?

Many residents here in Rose Hill are still waiting for damaged roads to be repaired by the county council.

If it takes a 40-ton crane to get such repairs done, then please Mr Crane-driver, bring your crane to Rose Hill.

Also, while I am on the subject of road repairs, my road has not yet been put right by Taylor Wimpey after they built 19a, 19b, 21a and 21b Williamson Way.

There are over 20 witnesses who can verify the damage to the road surface by heavy goods vehicles delivering to the storage yard they once had.

And please, Thames Water, get that trench repaired in front of my home.

I believe it needed three months’ settlement before you could finish it properly.

It was last November that you dug the trench.

I am sorry to say it but I thought we had lost the title of being ‘the forgotten Rose Hill estate’.

I just hope I have a sympathetic judge when I hold back my council tax payments for living in such a rundown area.
