A MAN has admitted dragging a woman into the grounds of an Oxford care home and sexually assaulting her.

Iain Nicholson appeared at Oxford Crown Court yesterday and admitted three charges.

The 51-year-old attacked the woman in the grounds of Fairfield Residential Home, off Banbury Road, North Oxford, at about 10.30pm on Monday, July 9.

The full facts of the attack will be made public at the sentencing hearing.

Nicholson, of Hernes Road, North Oxford, admitted one count of sexual assault and two of serious sexual assault.

Louis French, defending, said his client had been admitted to Littlemore Mental Health Centre “about three weeks” before the incident.

Judge Gordon Risius ordered a pre-sentence report, including a medical report, and remanded Nicholson in custody.

He said an assessment of Nicholson’s potential danger to public would have to be made, adding: “It goes without saying, all (sentencing) options are open in a case like this.”

Sentencing will take place on Monday, September 3.
