AN 18-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man from Oxford have been convicted of cruelty to a baby.

Danielle Moss and Curtis Taylor were convicted by jurors at Oxford Crown Court on Thursday.

Taylor was found guilty by majority verdicts of two counts of inflicting grievous bodily harm and one charge of cruelty to a person under 16 years old.

The victim, who cannot be identified, was just four months old when the abuse took place in 2010.

Moss was also convicted by a majority decision of cruelty to a person under 16.

Judge Patrick Eccles said he would not send Moss, of Warburg Crescent, Blackbird Leys, to prison, but told Taylor, who is also awaiting sentence for assaulting Moss, that he is likely to be jailed.

Taylor was bailed to an address in Jackson Road, Cutteslowe, on the basis he abide by a night-time curfew and report to St Aldate’s Police Station once a week. Moss was given unconditional bail.

Sentencing will take place at later date.
