WE now have visible proof of the Government’s ineptitude in the arrangements for the Olympics.

Recently the TV news bulletins showed video footage of our troops who deserved a break after returning from active service in Afghanistan.

The poor lads were worn out and hundreds were asleep on chairs or whatever they could find after being put into immediate training for the missing security operations to cover for the Government’s wrong choice of G4S security who were not properly vetted.

They had only managed small security operations in the past.

On top of this, we now hear of major disruption of the Games by unhappy airport staff and train staff, who basically are unhappy with the cuts made by PM David Cameron and co.

Yes, prominent council leaders and MPs were all too ready to be photographed, attending the many torchbearing runs around the country, but few had any idea of the lack of foresight that ministers had in getting this great event set up.

Britain has put on a flamboyant appearance in organising the main event of this century, but, behind the scenes, there has been little commitment in ensuring all runs smoothly.
