OXFORD car owners have fallen prey to a spate of smash-and-grab thefts in the past week.
There were five vehicles broken into across the city in the last seven days, with thieves taking cash, wallets, mobile phones and a sat nav.
The first incident was last Friday. A wallet, cash cards and phone were stolen from an insecure car in Littlemore Road, Littlemore, between 2pm and 3.30pm.
A wallet and cash were then taken after a thief smashed the rear window of a car in Temple Cowley car park, Cowley, between 5.30pm and 6.45pm on Sunday.
A phone was taken from an unattended taxi after the front passenger window was smashed in John Smith Drive, Cowley, at 11am on Tuesday.
On the same day, a sat nav and cash were stolen from a car in Temple Street, Iffley Fields overnight and a handbag was stolen from the back seat of a car in Worcester Street car park, Oxford, between 1.50pm and 4.25pm after the rear passenger window was smashed.
Police are not linking the crimes but warned vehicle owners not to leave items on display. Contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
