A pity that the recent doctors’ strike has taken the headlines away from this Government’s disastrous fiddling with our beloved NHS.

Apparently, dopey ministers like Sarah Teather and William Hague have been campaigning to save hospitals in their own constituencies, despite their parties voting to close them in the first place.

These two pathetic figures know they could be dispatched at the next election and I only hope the voters of Brent Central and Richmond York do their duty and get rid of them both.

Primary care trusts are to be abolished and replaced with GP-led clinical commissioning groups, but without accountability and legal protection.

The Health Service Journal states that hospital trusts are planning huge cuts, mainly from staff, and even the head of the NHS Confederation is warning of potential disaster.

It would seem the doctors’ work-to-rule took these stories out of the headlines.

Wouldn’t it have been better, and more popular from the public’s view, if doctors worked to rule by refusing to set up these new clinical commissioning groups?

I wonder how many Oxford Mail readers realise we are heading for absolute catastrophe with the aforementioned issues and the general privatising of our health service?

Now the British Medical Association, which represents doctors, has voted to campaign for the repeal the coalition Government’s Health and Social Care Act.

Things are happening: please get involved.

Save our NHS!
