YOU don’t have to be a mad hatter to work at Oxford’s Story Museum but it certainly helps.
Staff at the museum in Pembroke Street including Philip Cooper and Rebekah Lidwell, have created a new exhibition based on the Alice in Wonderland stories of Christ Church maths don Lewis Carroll.
The exhibition, entitled Tea with Alice, opens today and runs until September 16, bringing together the work of more than 20 artists from around the world.
Museum researcher Sophie Smith, inset, said: “The exhibition explores ways that the Alice stories translate across the world. Visitors can explore different editions in the ‘Read Me’ Room, vote for their favourite illustration in the ‘Pick Me’ space, and have fun with hats and word games at the Mad Tea Party.”
Also running at the museum is another show called Rochester’s Extraordinary Storyloom, created by Oxford artist Ted Dewan. For details, see the Story Museum website.
