HORSPATH Parish Council, having spent several years talking about draining the village burial ground, recently spent several thousand pounds having the area drained.

Despite this expenditure, I found on a recent visit to the burial ground that the end result of this work is that the area remains waterlogged.

As I said in a previous letter on this subject (ViewPoints, April 20) by doing it their way, the council stood a very good chance of achieving nothing and having to spend even more money, solely because they think they know best, when in fact they know nothing.

All it leaves me to say to the councillors and the village’s taxpayers is that I told you so.
