The London Welsh Male Voice Choir is set to perform in Oxford for the first time in 40 years.

The group of more than 100 singers, which has sung in front of the Queen, is performing at Oxford Town Hall from 7.30pm on Saturday, June 9.

The choir formed in 1902 and regularly releases albums. It was the first male voice choir to achieve a gold disc for more than 100,000 sales.

Edward-Rhys Harry, musical director, said: “We sing in four-part harmonies and without a musical score so all the hymns and arias have to be learned by heart, which is the most effective, natural and spiritual of all male voice choir expression.”

Tickets cost £25 and can be booked by calling 01865 252 351 or at visitox fordandoxfordshire.com
