I notice Wallingford residents are appealing against plans to build houses in areas of outstanding natural beauty and East Hanney residents are complaining about houses being built on flooded fields.

Is there no limit to where housing will be allowed to fulfil the local councils’ desires to meet government quotas?

Why are councils so driven to grant unsuitable developments?

Is it because they know that only developers have a right to appeal and the public has none, or is it in the hope that some of them might land an executive council job which pays more than the Prime Minister?

Whatever do these executives do that makes them believe they are worth more remunerations than the PM?

More than 200 across the country receive such salaries and their pay has increased on average by about 80 per cent since 2002.

Why not send your suggestions to the council on how some pay cuts could save the hard-pressed ratepayers a couple of million pounds or so!
