FORMER members of ’60s legends The Kinks will headline a county music festival that has raised thousands for charity.

The Kast Off Kinks top the bill at Music at the Crossroads at Ferris Hill Farm, near Hook Norton, on Saturday July 7.

The festival, in its 16th year, has raised more than £60,000 for good causes in the last decade.

This year’s event will again raise cash for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research, The Fire Fighters Charity and Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance.

Adderbury’s Katharine House Hospice will also benefit.

Kinks hits include Waterloo Sunset and Lola. Also performing this year are local bands Mini Band, Flotsam Jets and Rebecca and The Roses. There will be acoustic performances from Vulnerable Adults, Rachel Gittus, The Linda Watkins Band, Palmerstone and Nick Ward.

Organiser Pete Watkins said he was thrilled to secure the Kast Off Kinks, which includes original sixties drummer Mick Avory.

Up to 2,000 people have flocked to the festival over the years and about 1,600 are expected this year.

Tickets are £16 before July 1 or £20 after that and £10 or £8 for youngsters aged 11 to 17 before or after July 1.

They are available from venues including the village shop, post office and One Man Band music shop in Banbury.
