DRAGON boat teams competed on the moat at Broughton Castle near Banbury to raise thousands of pounds for charity.
Banbury Rotary Club staged the races at the castle on Monday.
Twenty-one teams of 11 competitors took part in the racing, including Banbury MP Tony Baldry.
Among those enjoying the fun were teacher Andrew Goldsmith, 39, from Bloxham, and his two sons Will Goldsmith, eight, and Matt Goldsmith, six.
Will said: “It was a great day out — I really enjoyed watching the racing and looking at the model boats.”
Rotary club spokesman Andrew Fairbairn said: “Usually this event raises about £3,000 and we split the money between different local charities.
“The racing goes on all day and finishes about 5pm.
“The boats race along a 200m stretch of the moat and the castle is open if people want to take a tour.
“It’s a very popular day out.”
