A MOTORCYCLIST escaped serious injury in Witney yesterday after he was involved in a collision with a lorry.
The accident happened at about 1pm in Station Lane. Police closed the road for a short time, while emergency services dealt with the accident, causing congestion on the A415 Aston Road.
South Central Ambulance spokesman James Keating-Wilkes said ambulance staff who were passing the scene stopped to give the man treatment.
He said: “One of our ambulances came across the incident involving the motorbike and a lorry and stopped to help.
“We also sent staff in a rapid response vehicle.
“The motorcyclist suffered a number of injuries after coming off his motorbike.
“The man was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford complaining of pain to his back and arm.”
Mr Keating-Wilkes added: “He was taken to hospital as a precaution and his injuries were not life-threatening.”
