AN exhibition of jewellery inspired by the history, architecture and famous figures of Oxford has opened at the O3 Gallery in Oxford Castle.

Pieces inspired by Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Inspector Morse will feature at the exhibition, which will run from Saturday to July 1.

Many of the artists visited the city to walk around the streets on the quest for inspiration.

Curator Tamsin Leighton-Boyce said: “The jewellery artists featured in the exhibition are all responding to Oxford.

“They have been inspired by the landscape, architecture, history, famous stories, landmarks and the cultural side of the city.

“I lived here for nearly nine years and it is such an amazing place to come and respond to. Oxford is such an exciting city.”

She added: “We are setting up the exhibition now and it is really exciting opening all the boxes and seeing the work for the first time.”
