LUCKY Belinda Collis will be able to visit her family in New Zealand to show off her new baby after winning an Oxford Mail competition.

We teamed up with airshow Fly to the Past to offer readers the chance to win a pair of round-the-world tickets – and Mrs Collis is our first winner.

The 35-year-old from Rose Hill gave birth to her third son, Luka, nine weeks ago, and has been desperate to show him off to her family and friends back in Auckland.

After being told she had won, yesterday, she said: “I am absolutely gob-smacked. I cannot believe it. This is the most incredible thing that has ever happened.

“It has been four years since I saw most of my friends and family in New Zealand and it will be amazing to see them again and introduce them to Luka.”

Mrs Collis is a teaching assistant at Larkrise Primary School, in East Oxford, and moved to the UK four years ago to be with her British partner.

She entered the competition after speaking to a neighbour about his recent holiday to Norway. She said: “I was jealous, so when I saw the competition I thought I would enter. I did not think I would win in a million years.”

The Oxford Mail will announce a competition winner every day this week, with the winners presented with their tickets at a ceremony on September 2.

Fly to the Past will take place at London Oxford Airport from September 1-2. It will feature flypasts charting the history of flight, live music and nostalgia.
