TWO Cheney School pupils who have never missed a day of school were rewarded with a limo ride to lessons.
Year 11 pupils Hamza Akhtar, 16, and Justin Strong, 15, were met by fellow students at the Headington secondary on Friday – their last day before exam leave.
Hamza, of Colemans Hill, said: “I’m definitely going to remember that.
“If I’m sick I just take a tissue and I deal with it.”
And Justin, from Bankside, said he did not realise he had not taken a day off, adding: “I didn’t really think about it.”
Meanwhile, Wheatley Park School sixth former Alex Gabbidon was honoured for not having a day off in seven years.
He said: “I’ve enjoyed school. It has kept me occupied and if I was at home, I would be bored and missing school.”
Headteacher Kate Curtis said: “We have had pupils who have managed five years of full attendance before, but I’ve never known someone to do seven years.”
