OF course it should be easier for employers to dismiss incompetent staff!
On my return from Spain in 1979, when I, a faculty-prize winning university graduate, was reduced to cleaning lavatories, one of the factors which made me figuratively – and eventually literally – sick was the fact that, all around me, I witnessed sub-standard employees in a wide gamut of roles.
