A HORSPATH man is likely to stand trial over the killing of grandmother Jenny Hume in December.
Stewart Dale appeared at Oxford Crown Court yesterday for a preliminary hearing.
The 27-year-old is charged with killing the grandmother-of-three at his caravan in Prospect Park, Horspath, on Friday.
Miss Hume was found dead at about 2am.
Dressed in a suit and shirt, Dale, spoke only to confirm his identity at court yesterday.
Prosecutor Cathy Olliver said: “Mr Dale is here on a charge of murdering a lady called Jennifer Hume at his home in Prospect Park in Oxford.
“I don’t propose to go into further details.”
No bail application was made by defence barrister Claire Fraser and Dale was remanded in custody by Judge Patrick Eccles.
He will next return to the court to enter a plea on August 3. A provisional trial date of December 3 was also set.
